Burghclere acquires majority stake in Voltility to build the leading data platform for the energy storage and data centre power markets

Burghclere’s investment will deepen and expand Voltility’s proprietary datasets and support AI investment

London, 01 September 2026 — Burghclere Limited, a family office investing directly in data and information services businesses, today announces that it has acquired a majority stake in Voltility, the market intelligence and data platform for the energy storage and data centre power markets.

Burghclere was founded by Charlie Teviot, who built With Intelligence into a leading data platform for the asset management industry before its sale to S&P Global in 2025.

Launched in 2020, Voltility provides subscriber news, analysis and proprietary data on energy storage and data centre power. Its platform combines proprietary project and ownership data, offtake and contractual arrangements, GIS project mapping and M&A coverage, and is used by customers across the power value chain.

The investment will fund further growth in Voltility’s data coverage, product development and commercial team. It will also support scaling a new data centre power offering and expanding the product across new markets, with investment in AI to build and maintain Voltility’s proprietary datasets at scale.

Charlie Teviot, founder of Burghclere, will become Executive Chairman. Co-founders Richard Kenton and Peter Allison remain with the business and will work alongside Burghclere to deliver its next stage of growth.

“Power availability is becoming the binding constraint on growth, from grid connections and storage build-out to where the next generation of data centres can be sited. Voltility’s combination of proprietary datasets and market intelligence closes the information gap those decisions depend on. Richard and Peter have built a terrific business. We are investing to expand further, across more datasets and more markets, and I look forward to working with Richard, Peter and the team to realise that ambition” said Charlie Teviot, founder of Burghclere.

“Working with Charlie Teviot, and the wider Burghclere team, is an exciting proposition and will allow Voltility to accelerate our strategy and continue serving our subscribers with the highest-quality data at this unprecedented time for investment in the grid, power, AI & data centres” said Richard Kenton, co-founder of Voltility.
